Contract Manufacturing in 10 Phases

A snap-shot of the process of Contract Manufacturing

Manufacturing is a science that never neglects any detail, because everything concurs to achieve a finished product assembled in full respect of many relevant factors like quality, time, work flow and the general efficiency of the process.

Phase 1: Activation of inbound logistics and materials receipt

The first phase requires the receipt of all the inputs and materials needed in order to assemble the finished product.

Phase 2: Preparation of Raw Materials

Productive inputs, in some cases, cannot be used as is but they need to be prepared in a way that will facilitate the assembly and improve their suitability.

Phase 3: Definition and Preparation of the Assembly Line

In this phase, the assembly line gets defined and organized for the actual start up. The more accurate the planning, the more optimized the entire production process, which also results in a reduction of resources wasting that typically occurs when changes or adjustments are made during the ramp up phase.

Phase 4: First Start Up of the Line

The line gets powered up at a rythm that's still not the definitive one but that serves to perform all the steps included in the predefined production sequence, verifying the level of efficiency.

Phase 5: Production Ramp Up

The ramp up phase is the phase in which the line starts functioning at full capacity and the productive output gets achieved within the predefined timing and in full respect of all the documented procedures.

Phase 6: Completion of the Production Order

The production order is completed upon reaching the number of units expected.

Phase 7: Applications Post-Assembly

Special applications, integrations or finishings are performed after the ramp up phase, because they require a particular execution that would not be allowed by the rythm of the assembly line.

Phase 8: Approval from the Quality Supervising Team

The Quality Supervising Team verifies the eligibility of the assembled product, based on physical, technical and functional requirements. Only when all the necessary features are present a product gets validated and allowed to the next phase.

Phase 9: Internal and External Packing

Products that have been validated get packaged to specification and identification labels are applied when required. Finally the products get packaged inside their dedicated external packaging and they are ready to be shipped out of the factory.

Phase 10: Activation of outbound logistics and delivery to destination

In this phase, every operation needed in relation to outbound logistics takes place and the delivery to destination is effected with the company's own means or through specialised carriers.
